If play appears in the ball joints or if the rubber covers of the joints are damaged, the ball joints must be removed and replaced.
We prepare the car for the task. Install chocks under the rear wheels.
Raise the front of the car with a jack, install it on reliable supports and remove the corresponding wheel.
Place a jack under the lower arm of the front suspension and raise the arm a few centimeters.
We unscrew the nut of the finger of the upper ball joint
If the ball pin "B" turns in the tapered hole of the steering knuckle, hold it with the hexagon "A" inserted into the axial hole at its end (for clarity, it is shown on the removed hinge).
Press the hinge pin out of the fist hole
We unscrew the nuts of the three bolts securing the ball joint to the lever

Install the ball joint in reverse order
Replacing the lower ball joint
Tools are required: keys for 17, 30, a hammer, pliers, ball finger puller.
We prepare the car for the task. Install chocks under the rear wheels.
Raise the front of the car with a jack, install it on reliable supports and remove the corresponding wheel.
Place a jack under the lower arm of the front suspension and raise the arm a few centimeters.
The lower joint can only be removed and installed with the steering knuckle removed.
We unscrew the two bolts securing the front brake caliper
Remove the caliper and fix it with wire on the suspension parts
Unscrew the bracket mounting bolt and disconnect the bracket from the steering knuckle
We unscrew the nut securing the steering rod pivot pin to the steering knuckle lever, keeping the finger from turning
Install the ball joint puller and press out the finger from the steering knuckle lever boss
We unscrew the nut of the finger of the upper ball joint
If the ball pin "B" turns in the tapered hole of the steering knuckle, hold it with the hexagon "A" inserted into the axial hole at its end
(shown on the removed hinge for clarity).
Press the hinge pin out of the fist hole
Unscrew the two bolts securing the lower ball joint to the steering knuckle
Remove the steering knuckle with the hub assembly. We unscrew the nut securing the ball pin
We install a ball finger puller, press out the support pin from the fist hole and remove the support
Install the ball joint in reverse order
We screw in the bolts of the hinge
Before screwing in the bolts securing the hinge to the steering knuckle, clean old sealant and degrease the threaded part of the bolts and holes in the steering knuckle.
Apply an anaerobic thread lock to the threads of the bolts.
Tighten the bolts to 80-100 Nm.
