We remove the upper lever of the front suspension to replace the silent blocks or to replace the entire lever when the ball bearing is worn out and the lever itself is deformed
To perform the work, you will need tools: a hexagon for 6, a ball bearing puller, keys for 14 and 17
We remove the wheel from the side of the task being performed, we crank the steering knuckle to unload the upper lever
Unscrew the nut of the ball bearing pin attachment to the rotary fist of the front suspension, if necessary, keeping the ball bearing pin from turning with a hexagon
We install the ball joint puller and press the ball bearing finger out of the rotary knuckle
Unscrew and remove the two bolts securing the upper lever of the front suspension to the body brackets
And remove the lever from the car assembly with a ball bearing
If necessary, unscrew the fastening bolt and remove the rubber damper
Inspect the lever, replace the deformed lever
Signs of wear of silent blocks are ruptures, unilateral buckling and peeling of rubber from the metal sleeve
To replace the silent blocks, pullers of a suitable size will be required
Pay attention to the marking of the lever. When replacing, we get the same lever
Installing the parts in reverse order
After replacing the upper lever of the front suspension, we check and, if necessary, adjust the wheel mounting angles
Tightening torques of fasteners:
Nut for fixing the ball bearing of the upper lever - 39-53 Nm
Wheel mounting nut - 88- 117 Nm
